Press ReleasesAugust 21, 2006 Calumet Electronics Ramps up Plant SecurityPCB Manufacturer - Calumet Electronics Corp. (Calumet) expands its ability to secure and protect proprietary, intellectual, and technological property. Calumet Electronics has always applied the principal of non-disclosure to Customer supplied data. Non-disclosure Agreements specify applicable disclosure restrictions. Calumet's growing participation in Military/Government markets has prompted it to implement additional steps to protect the proprietary, intellectual, and technological property entrusted to it. "Our staff comes in daily contact with data from many different sources." said Stephen J. Marshall, National Sales Manager of Calumet. "These sources deserve a safe, controlled environment for their data and our new security measures are designed to provide it." That safe, controlled environment is created by restricting access to the plant and designated areas within it. Computer workstations and network access rights are also restricted. Access rights are enabled using picture ID cards embedded with RFID tags. The embedded code is detected by sensors that verify authorization and grant or deny access. Designated events may be archived with ID Code, Access Point, and Time/Date Stamp as required. Additional measures are being developed and implemented to meet security requirements. About Calumet |
