CALUMET, Mich. — Richard Rule has been a valuable member of the Calumet Electronics team for more than 40 years! His start date was July 31, 1980.
As a Preventative Maintenance Drill Tech, Rich follows a set schedule to examine all of the machines in the drill room, ensuring that each one is up to date on maintenance and functioning smoothly. He plays a critical role in eliminating unscheduled downtime and helping us to avoid possible scrap events due to machine failure. This position requires attention to detail, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving — all of which Rich employs every day.
“Rich never misses a beat,” said Michael Messner, Employee Development & Training Manager. “Preventative maintenance is his game, and Rich takes pride in making sure that everything is ready to go. And when it’s not, he dives in with both hands and feet to get to the root cause of any problem. He’s a real asset to our company.”
Rich started years ago in material set-up but found his niche in drilling. “I find working on the pieces of equipment gives me a sense of accomplishment,” said Rich. ” I especially enjoy working with Lee Mayra, one of our process engineers. I appreciate the insight he has shown and taught me.”
Not only is Rich a valued worker on his own, but he’s also helping to boost our workforce — his children Ricky and Tina also work at Calumet Electronics. Each day, valued team members like Rich play a big role in helping us maintain our high levels of performance. Thanks, Rich — we appreciate you!
