Adaptability in Action: Supporting Quality Across the Floor

Since joining Calumet Electronics in February 2023, Chris Dutton has become a steady and versatile presence in the Dry Laboratory on 1st shift. His role centers on prioritizing orders, stepping in where support is needed most, and carefully evaluating product quality to ensure customers receive the highest standards possible.

Chris’s ability to see the bigger picture — balancing workflow demands while maintaining strict quality expectations — plays an important role in keeping production moving efficiently and accurately.

One of Chris’s strengths is his cross-training across multiple departments. With approximately one year of experience in routing, laser drilling, and the Dry Lab, he brings flexibility to the team and can adapt quickly as needs shift throughout the facility. This broad skill set makes him a reliable resource and a strong collaborator across departments.

“Chris consistently shows up ready to work, brings a great attitude every day, and is cross trained across multiple areas, making him a reliable and valuable team member,” shared his supervisor. “Recently, Chris has volunteered to alter his work schedule to help other members of his area train.”

For Chris, the work goes beyond the day-to-day tasks.
“I have gained the opportunity to help change the future in science and aerospace technologies,” he said.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys 3D printing, listening to audiobooks, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with coworkers — interests that reflect both his creativity and the strong connections he’s built with his teammates.

Chris’s adaptability, commitment to quality, and willingness to support others make him an important part of Calumet Electronics’ continued success.
