Meet Lucas Wessel
When Lucas Wessel joined Calumet Electronics in early 2020, he dove into the challenge of learning complex manufacturing processes—and he hasn’t stopped growing since. As a Score & Optek Operator on 3rd shift in Factory 5, Lucas plays a critical role in ensuring parts are precisely prepared and measured. Whether he’s cutting panels into arrays, programming Optek measurements, or pitching in with scrubbing, his work keeps operations moving efficiently.
Lucas is cross trained across both Score and Optek, showcasing the kind of versatility and teamwork Calumet values. “Lucas’s willingness to collaborate, mentor others, and contribute to the success of the team has been truly invaluable,” said one colleague. “His hard work, dedication, and passion for excellence have made a lasting impact on our organization.”
Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Lucas brings a creative spirit to his work and his life. Outside of the factory, you’ll find him lifting weights, painting, jamming on the bass, or playing video games. “Back when I started, I liked the challenge of learning new things,” he says. “I still find a lot of the processes to be interesting.”
