Since joining Calumet Electronics in 2018, Ryan Frusti has built a reputation for leadership and consistency on 2nd shift. Today, he serves as Supervisor of Press/Layup, overseeing the precise and demanding process of assembling multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs).
The Layup process requires stacking and aligning inner layers, prepreg (pre-impregnated fiberglass), and copper foil with exact precision before lamination. Ryan ensures that every detail is correct, from reading traveler documents and interpreting engineering drawings to preparing materials and maintaining strict traceability. His oversight helps guarantee that Calumet’s boards meet the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and performance.
Ryan’s career at Calumet began in Procurement, where he developed a strong understanding of the company’s operations. Forklift certified and cross-trained across multiple functions, he brings a versatile perspective to his leadership role.
“In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, leadership and consistency are key—and Ryan brings both to the table every day. As a supervisor, he not only ensures operations run smoothly but also motivates the team with a strong work ethic and a solution-focused mindset. Ryan’s ability to balance efficiency, safety, and quality is a major asset to our operation, and we’re proud to have him lead the way.”
For Ryan, what makes the job rewarding is the challenge:
“I thoroughly enjoy the high-stakes problem solving that is required to get CEC to the next level.”
Outside of work, Ryan has a full and busy life. Originally from Phoenix and raised in Metro Detroit, he now calls Calumet home. He and his fiancée Samantha are raising five children together, along with their Rottweiler, Zeus. Ryan loves to travel, and whether it’s attending comedy shows, UFC events, or trips to Hawaii, he values the experiences that come with exploring new places.
Ryan’s steady leadership and commitment to quality embody Calumet’s mission to strengthen American PCB manufacturing and support mission-critical industries. His role in Press/Layup ensures that every board is built with precision from the start—laying the foundation for reliability and performance in the world’s most advanced technologies.
